Quinta Monte Boi Terracotta is located in Monte Boi, between Silves and São Bartolomeu de Messines. Here, you are away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist coast, yet the coastline is only 15 kilometers away. It’s a place where the Algarve still feels like it did centuries ago, with classic whitewashed villages, cozy cafés, restaurants, and a soothing view of the hills and the sea.

This charming old farmhouse has been lovingly and carefully renovated over the years. It is the perfect place to fully unwind during a relaxing holiday. After a sunny day, you can enjoy a snack and a drink on the veranda or relax in the comfortable living room.

The living room is tastefully decorated and features a large smart TV (Canal Digitaal) and a high-quality sound system, both controllable via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. You can easily stream Spotify, Netflix, and Juke, or mirror your mobile screen via Smart View. The luxury kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, combi-oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, sandwich press, kettle, high-end orange juicer, coffee machine, milk frother, blender, and more.
In addition, there is an extra fridge with a large freezer. The glassware, crockery, and cutlery are of excellent quality.

Outside, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy life in the Algarve: play on the lawn, read in the hammock, lounge in the shade of the veranda, or sunbathe by the pool. The large pool offers a stunning view and comes with six sun loungers and an outdoor shower. You can pick oranges from the trees and visit the rooftop terrace for an even more breathtaking view of the valley and the sea. Every meal can be enjoyed together at the table; outdoor life here feels like pure relaxation.

Monte Boi Terracotta is a small, charming area near São Bartolomeu de Messines. Messines is just a few minutes’ drive away and offers a market, supermarkets, a bank, various shops, a pharmacy, a post office, restaurants, and bars. The historic town of Silves is about a 15-minute drive and is one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve.
It has the remains of a castle, a magnificent cathedral, and many charming streets. The beach can be reached in approximately 25 minutes, such as Praia São Rafael, Castelo, Lourenço, or the beaches near Galé and Armação de Pêra.

Last week, we had the pleasure of staying in this fantastic villa with our three children (9, 10, and 15 years old)! A place we will never forget, I’ve truly fallen in love with it. A beautiful house, and it really has everything you could possibly need! The location is magnificent, with an amazing view. Plus, you're only a 5-minute drive from supermarkets and at least 15 minutes to charming villages. In short: you can seek out the hustle and bustle if you want, but you can also retreat and enjoy the peace and everything this house has to offer. The owner, Joke, was always available if needed, and hostess Nina welcomed us wonderfully. We truly recommend this beautiful spot to everyone!

Our first experience in Portugal as a family of six. A beautifully renovated farmhouse, tastefully decorated. Three spacious rooms with comfortable beds and two new bathrooms. The house is fully equipped with all comforts—don’t miss the fresh oranges, and throw a delicious fish on the top grill in your own garden! Our four kids mostly cooled off in the wonderful pool, while we enjoyed a nice glass of wine on one of the sunbeds, the hammock, or in the lounge. A big thank you to Nina for the warm welcome and to Joke for always being available! In short: the perfect base to explore the Algarve region!

We spent one week in this amazing villa with our two sons, aged 16 and 17. What a wonderful place! The interior and exterior are beautifully decorated. The house is equipped with every comfort you could need. Whenever we had a question, Joke and Bart responded very quickly. All in all, highly recommended for a holiday!

Recommended!

A beautiful home with a great view! The house is fully equipped. With the 'danger' that you see too little of the environment. We were just as sweet at the house :-). A nice base for everything to see in the area. Actually, most of it is within a 30-minute drive from the house. In short: highly recommended!

We would love to come back

Last summer we stayed for two weeks in this beautiful villa. It is a modern villa, in which you are fully equipped. The rooms are spacious with good beds and the two bathrooms have good facilities such as a toilet and a well-functioning shower. The location of the villa is beautiful with views towards the coast. The coast itself is a half hour drive, which we didn't mind. The homeowners are very friendly and rightly careful with their property. I definitely recommend this villa and we would love to come back.

A warm welcome and a pleasant stay

We had a great time at Joke and Bart's house in Monte Boi. What a fantastic location with a super nice view. The house is fully equipped, you will lack nothing and you can use everything. The pool was a favorite with our kids! The location is very accessible and close to several other places worth visiting. A wonderful place

A beautifully converted Portuguese farmhouse that has been renovated with great care. In everything you see the attention and love of the residents. A wonderful place to completely relax. Monte Boi is a quiet, rural spot in the Algarve that offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Tucked away in the hills near Silves, it’s the perfect place for travelers who enjoy authenticity, fresh air and the charm of the countryside. With its central location, Monte Boi gives you easy access to both inland traditions and the stunning southern coast.

Closest beaches
Though Monte Boi lies inland, the beaches are never too far. In around 30 minutes, you can reach the coastline near Armação de Pêra or Praia da Marinha. These beaches offer everything from dramatic cliffs to soft sand and calm, clear water. After a morning exploring village life or hiking through the hills, a dip in the Atlantic makes for the perfect afternoon.

Authentic villages and towns
Monte Boi is close to Silves, one of the most historic towns in the Algarve. With its castle, narrow streets and Moorish influence, Silves is full of character. Nearby, small villages like São Bartolomeu de Messines offer a glimpse into daily life in rural Portugal, where cafés serve fresh pastries and locals greet you like a neighbor. It’s a region that still feels real and unspoiled.

Sights and activities
There’s plenty to do in and around Monte Boi. You can take scenic walks through the hills, go cycling on quiet backroads, or visit the castle in Silves for a bit of local history. Kids will enjoy exploring nature, spotting storks and frogs near streams, or visiting nearby animal parks. Rental conditions

Conditions
The rental price includes the use of WiFi, air conditioning, water and electricity (including washing bed linen, etc., maintenance of the swimming pool and garden). The rental price is calculated on the indicated number of people. If visitors stay overnight during your stay, costs will apply. Please report this to the owner upon arrival or during your stay.

Payment
A deposit of 30% is required upon booking. The remaining amount must be paid together with the deposit 8 weeks before arrival in Portugal. The reservation is only final after a 30% deposit has been paid
Payment of deposit upon arrival, you are requested to pay the deposit of EUR 300. If no damage has been caused by you, this will be returned to your bank account within 7 days, or in the event of damage, part or all of it may be withheld, or additional payment for any damage may be required.

Cancellation
If the rental agreement is canceled by the tenant(s), the following cancellation costs will be charged:
a. in case of cancellation up to 6 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: 30% of the rental amount;
b. in case of cancellation from 6 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: the full invoice amount.

Arrival and departure
You can enter the villa after 4:00 PM and must leave the villa before 10:00 AM; this is in connection with the cleaning of the villa.

Liability
Portugalvillas / landlord(s) accept no liability for the consequences of any accidents, etc. during your stay in Portugal and in particular in and around the accommodation caused by any circumstances whatsoever.

We advise you to take out proper travel and cancellation insurance.
