About Quinta Monchique l Surrounded by nature

Quinta Monchique Foz do Banho is an architect-designed villa built in 1970 with a patio covered with vines as the centerpiece and also entrance. The various rooms are situated around this. The villa has a large living room with fireplace, a spacious kitchen with all necessary equipment, a dining room and a large covered terrace.

The villa has a very spacious master bedroom with fireplace and bathroom with bath and separate shower. Through the patio doors you are directly on the terrace with swimming pool. The second bedroom also has its own bathroom with bath, separate shower and direct access to the terrace and pool. The guest toilet is also located in the central hall. The third bedroom has a bathroom with shower. The villa is also equipped with central heating (optional), pantry with washing machine, dryer and ironing equipment, two satellite TVs, video, DVD player, radio and CD player. Cots are provided on request. All rooms are on the ground floor and without thresholds. The Quinta has been given an extra bedroom, this room is a double room that is adjacent to the master bedroom. These two rooms are connected by means of a door, which can be closed. This room is adjacent to the pool but does not have a private bathroom.

Various terraces have been laid out around this eight-person villa with both sunny and shady spots, various seating areas, a large dining table and a barbecue. The swimming pool (12 x 6) has an outdoor shower. Next to the kitchen is a citrus orchard where you can pick your own fruit in the morning. The view is breathtaking and on a clear day you look directly at the coast.

The villa is located at the foot of the beautiful Monchique Mountains on an estate covered with the most beautiful native plants and trees. The Romanesque village of Caldas de Monchique, a recognized spa town, is within walking distance. Faro Airport is a 45-minute drive; the nearest beaches are twenty minutes away by car.

Wonderful holiday in a prime location

Wonderful holiday in a prime location. We were looking for a nice quiet location but within driving distance of the beaches and coastal towns. It became Foz de Banho just outside Caldas de Monchique in the mountains behind Portimao. What a beautiful place! Especially the garden with unique pool. We had never seen it so beautiful! We had a wonderful holiday. A lot has been seen and done, but also a lot of lazing around at the edge of the pool. Thanks to Portugalvillas!

What a lovely place

Found the paradise in the Algarve? Beautiful, very nice pictures and an attractive description of the stay and the immediate surroundings prompted us to book. One week in the first half of March became our choice. We realized that the pictures and the story had been given a marketing sauce, so the reality would be slightly different. And that turned out to be true, because that reality exceeded our wildest expectations. And now that we have been there, we dare to say that this reality cannot be represented, neither with photos nor with a written text. Easily accessible and yet a bit hidden, so in complete privacy and tranquility we found this paradise spot. Our stay became a fairy tale in a place where you really relax and enjoy the freedom and tranquility, where the sun shines, where luxury is normal. The beautiful villa, fully equipped, is well equipped for 6 people (all 3 bedrooms have their own spacious bathroom), with a cozy living room, a separate dining room (but you always eat on one of the beautiful terraces), spacious kitchen and situated in a great spot in a breathtaking environment. From the terrace you look at the pond-pool-pond combination; the pool is a saltwater pool (no chlorine!), the freshwater ponds are filled with beautiful aquatic plants, frogs and fish. The total site covers 55,000 M2. Part of this has been laid out as a beautiful garden, beautiful flower and flowering species, multicolored and perfectly maintained (by the daily unobtrusive presence of Abel, the caretaker, who also received us, escorted us and helped where necessary). This makes me cry a bit, my wife whispered in my ear during our first walk through this garden. And the immediate surroundings as well as the view are of a moving beauty. In the vicinity of the villa within walking distance are restaurants, a beautiful small village Caldaz de Monchique and places like the nice Silves, Monchique and Lagos, places like the Atlantic coast and Cape Vicente turned out to be worthwhile. It also pays to drive just a bit inland. What a lovely place.

Algarve - Monchique

Monchique is an ideal destination for hiking and outdoor activities, with beautiful hiking trails and views. Monchique is a village located in the western part of the Algarve, and it is surrounded by the lush and mountainous Monchique Mountains. The village itself is situated about 20 kilometers inland from the coast, making it an ideal place for those seeking peace and nature. Monchique is known for its handmade products, including ceramics and cork products.

Monchique offers local shops for daily necessities, and for more extensive shopping, you can go to Portimão, which is located about 20 kilometers away on the coast. The village has cozy dining establishments where you can enjoy traditional Portuguese dishes and local specialties. At the heart of the village is the charming church of Nossa Senhora do Desterro, a historical landmark well worth a visit. Just 4 kilometers away from the village, you can find the thermal springs of Monchique, known as the "sacred waters" as referred to by the Romans in the first century BC.

Faro International Airport, located approximately 110 kilometers away, is the nearest airport.

Rental conditions

Payment
When booking, a deposit of 30% of the total amount is required. The remaining amount must be paid before arrival in Portugal.

Requirements
The rent includes the use of Wifi, gas, water and electric, including washing bed linen, etc., maintenance of the swimming pool and garden. Not included is the use of  central heating.
The rental price is calculated on the indicated number of people. If visitors stay overnight during your stay, costs are involved. Please report this to the owner upon arrival or during your stay.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the rental agreement by the tenant(s), the following cancellation costs will be charged:
a. in case of cancellation up to 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: 50% of the invoice.
b. in case of cancellation from 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: the full invoice amount.

Deposit
Payment before arrival. With the 2nd payment of 70%, you are requested to pay the deposit of EUR 500. If no damage has been caused by you, this will be returned by bank after departure, or in the event of damage, part or all of it may be withheld, or additional payment of any damage incurred will be required.

Arrival and departure
In principle, you cannot move into the villa before 4 p.m. and must have left the villa by 10 a.m. in connection with the cleaning.
Portugalvillas / landlord(s) do not accept any liability for the consequences of any accidents, etc. during your stay in Portugal and in particular in and around the villa caused by whatever circumstances.
